genuine windows

lol. anyone getting this thing? you’re using pirated windows xp and enabled the auto update. well, that’s your fault. go get an original copy. anywhoo, a friend of mine got this problem and his windows xp started to pop up annoying banner and notification saying to get an original copy, counterfeit software, etc. etc. so, i help him by ‘patching’ his genuine control dll files.

there are many types of way to settle this problem but my favourite is replace the dll. modifying windows is fun. so far, i see no problem with his computer. so, if you’re using pirated software and loving it, try this dll patch, and get it here.

oh, i forget to say this. a deny statement. i don’t encourage user to use pirated software. you are responsible for what you do. hehe…

notice – may 8, 2006

as many of you didn’t know, my website is offline for four days. this is caused by a hardware error at the webhosting company i rent. of course, i was filled with rage. wtf kind of service is this. after they back-up my files, i thought i was saved. but no. their sql database is also corrupted which means, my whole writing life was destroyed. all my 3 years of blogging is now gone. instead of the current data, they gave me the ones which is 4 months old. sucks.

they tell me that the hardware error causing a data corruption. then, they throw more reasons such as the backup hard disk is mirroring the current corrupted files (wtf? mirror? don’t they ever heard of full backup?), database turned into numbered files, etc. they obviously didn’t learn since they had two hard disk crashes in less than one year (they’re using a dell server, mind you).

i think i have a backup database on my notebook but unfortunately for me, it’s from the year 2005, which you can see the post below this (some of the posts have been recovered). lucky i saved all my template files and whatnot. my loss is on the sql database and one or two files which i can’t remember what. bored with all this stuff, i asked them to reset my account and gave me a new and clean one. rebuild a new setting might cheer me up.

the moral is: choose a very good hosting company and always back up your files and database. ;)

aqua therapy

because of the free time, i’ve got myself a new hobby. that is, gardening. that subject actually have a big scope. mine is mainly plant and took care of it and garden decor such as small waterfall, a miniature pond, things like that. the plant i grew mostly kiambang (wtf is this when translated to english?) and waterlilies.

currently, i’m thinking of building a walk path with stones on it. like those therapy stones thingy and probably a miniature waterfall with a koi pond. sounds grand. it’s a hard work. last week, i got myself some koi fish. four of them. apparently one died today which i don’t know what is the cause. well, nevermind. i’ll get some more later.

oh little johnny. why’d you die? why?

mario forever

oh, i still remember those 8-bit days. nintendo entertainment system (nes), atari, etc. games like duck shooting, motocross, goonies, pac man and of course, the super mario. i still have those nes catridges. i might sell them on ebay or just keep it for history sake. anywhoo, i really like those mario games. from version 1 to 3. mario, luigi, princess, dragon, etc. eventhough the market is now full with ps2 or xbox, i’m thinking of getting one of those 8-bit systems just for archiving purposes. probably sungei wang got those things.

while wasting my time surfing the internet, hoping to stumble upon free porn or mp3, i found this super mario game that is free to download. don’t want to turn down free offer, i download and installed it. after playing it for about an hour, i must say, the developers have done a good job recreating the world. although not the same as the original, it’s still fun nonetheless.

edit: somebody been asking me for the mario file. naturally i will tell them to go to hell but i’m a changed man (for this week). so here you are.

purple

i was called to organized my room. tidy up. yeah, probably the piling of papers, books and clothes has finally made my mind realized this is kinda like a pig sty. while picking up things to throw out, i found my old, old, very old autograph book. i thought that thing is missing. there are many memorable entry in there. some were okay, some were poyo, etc. yeah, memories. the design is a bit girly because it is a replacement book. mine was actually nicer but a friend has lost the book. so, she replaced it with a new one. enough with that book and everything else, i shoved it at a box and stored it away. now my room looks better and smells nicer.

then i went to see the movie ultraviolet. some people say it is a great movie this and all. so, i pay rm9 for this. i can’t deny it. the special effects is fuckin’ awesome but the story line…uhh…what kind of story line is that. probably i didn’t understand the comic book well. humans fighting the hemophage? virus? blood? they’re like the vampires and i thought the vampire is immortal. the movie blade rings a bell. it’s true like the character violet say. i was born into a world you can’t understand.

if i knew, i should bought the movie tickets for the sentinel. i’ll probably happy watching eva longoria.

almost

bored. so i asked a friend out for a drink. apparently she choose to drink at nz. actually, i really didn’t prefer that place nowdays. sure before this i went there to hang out. i just went there sometimes. the place didn’t have the ‘flavour’ anymore or ‘vibe’ or whatever.

anywhoo, on my way back from kelana jaya today, i almost hit a racoon with my car. i don’t know if i’m drunk or something but i’m sure or at least i think it is a racoon. in a city nonetheless. the thing just stared at me and not moving. lucky i was not speeding or there’ll be a roadkill and a bloody mess on the tyre, paint job, windsheild, etc…

melaka

it’s a long holiday, so i suggested that we have a family gathering at melaka. few weeks before the big day, i jot down the events and place that we must go there. there are about 4 cars convoy and to ease up on the communcation, dad bought a long range walkie talkie. then, on the event day, something happened that we didn’t expect. a very long and tiring traffic jam. it started before the sungai besi toll and all the way to melaka. damn, that was very frustrating.

we stopped at senawang for a chinese new year visit to my dad’s best friend’s house. the food was okay, and the ang pow was okay too. then, we continue the journey to melaka. it was very slow moving. my back hurts. it was frustrating that i don’t give a damn and use the emergency lane to get through. 4 hours later, we arrived at the destination. i manage to secure a nap before we went to the night zoo. the zoo train tour was fun, the guy who is our guide was funny. animals are cuter in the night. sadly we weren’t allowed to bring camera. camera phone sucks because they don’t have flash.

next day, is the main event. we all went to banda hilir. the town. we start the tour with first, finding a parking. the place was packed. lucky one of my aunt is one of the customs head director and she managed to get us a parking inside the customs building. there are even traffic police escort to guide us into the compound. how cool is that? bitchin’ awesome.

then, it was the usual stuff. first, the maritime museum, then the jonker street, the china town, the little india, the stadthuys, the melaka museum, the st. paul church, the a-famosa and all things around the town. we separated the family into two groups so it’s easy to manage. my group end the day with a lunch at mahkota parade. at night, the young ones went to mahkota parade to watch the ‘buli balik’ movie.

the last day, we went to the bee museum, taman mini malaysia and asean. damn, all things costs rm10 here at melaka. the place was damn hot. but that didn’t stop me to took loads of photos. there are several nice set of them. okaylah for a novice. the journey back to kl was kinda frustrating too. there was this huge traffic jam. started from melaka and all the way to seremban highway. again, my back hurts.

so, that was it. my family gathering at melaka. although it didn’t really go as planned, but it’s okay. mission half accomplished. the important thing is that we all get to hang out and do things together as a family. hopefully we can do this again next year. i was thinking of pulau pangkor.

how was your holiday?
