it’s time for proton iriz 50,000km service.

here are the items and costs info.

my problem before is an annoying sound coming from the steering wheel/wheel when turning left. cannot diagnose properly the cause of the sound, they end up changing the whole steering column. it’s under warranty, so it’s ok. also, my airbag light intermittent flashing. they just tightened the plug.

Microsoft fonts on debian/ubuntu/linux

‘sup

every now and then, i like to use linux when i’m doing some work. i even do a dual boot ubuntu on my macbook pro. because, why not?

spend a couple of days customizing my ubuntu on mbp. now, whats missing is some microsoft fonts, primarily calibri, verdana and tahoma.

verdana, trebuchet installation is quite simple. download/install ttf-mscorefonts-installer from package manager or download the .deb from here and dpkg -i that shit.

calibri and tahoma, well…you need to do a bit of work. make sure the package cabextract is already installed.

for tahoma, download IELPKTH.CAB here and move that file to /root

open up terminal and su root

mkdir /usr/share/fonts/winfont
cabextract -F '*.ttf' -d /usr/share/fonts/winfont IELPKTH.CAB

for calibri and other related fonts, download PowerPointViewer.exe here and move that file to /root

open up terminal and su root

cabextract -F ppviewer.cab PowerPointViewer.exe
cabextract -F '*.TT?' -d /usr/share/fonts/winfont ppviewer.cab
fc-cache -fv

enjoy your microsoft fonts.

Accident motor

after going to and back from work for 6-7 years by car, i was like this is enough man. traffic jams, wasting time, etc. etc. i decided to buy a motorcycle. between a kapchai and scooter, i choose scooter. probably for me, its easier to maintain. maybe a bit mahal lah but its ok.

anyways, the incident is fairly simple. i was at the main road and a car want to exit a junction. didn’t look before exiting and straight away bang me from the left. fell down and dragged for 1-2 meters. damn painful. when i saw the car exiting, i was like this is it. i’m gonna get hit. let’s just embrace it. lol.

luckily theres many people there helping me. the car driver sent me to clinic for checkup and pay some monies for the repairs. she sounds like want to blame me though but hey, the law is the law. when exiting a junction, make sure both ways is clear man.

my scooter not badly damaged. just a scratch, broken foot rest and need a handle alignment. but my pants, shirt, jacket and leather shoes are damaged though. damn love that shirt.

had to walk around with a cane for a week.

Windows 10 anniversary edition

been using windows 10 for a while now. i updated all my hardware (windows 7 and 8) to windows 10 since they got free upgrade (promotion ended on july 29). yeah, who doesn’t like free stuff eh?

overall, windows 10 is ok. responsiveness is so-so. since most of mine and my family devices are up to date, it would be fine to upgrade. if not, i’ll just stick to windows 7.

anyways, when i heard about this update, i was thinking why not try it. i don’t want to wait for the windows update, so i just download the installer and force update it. hmm…it was ok. maybe useful for people who like to keep schedule. if you want to know whats new in this update, just google for it.
